Hurricane Policy

General Policy

Nobu Hotel Miami Beach has implemented a Hurricane Policy to ensure guests have a stress-free vacation during hurricane season (June – November). The policy offers various accommodations in the event of a hurricane directly impacting Miami Beach during your stay.

Direct Hurricane Impact

  • Hurricane Definition: A hurricane must be directly hitting Nobu Hotel Miami Beach, with a Hurricane Watch issued by the US National Weather Center for the policy to be effective.

Closures and Evacuations

  • Hotel Management: Nobu Hotel is located on a barrier island, and hotel management reserves the right to close the hotel and ask guests to relocate even without an official evacuation order, prioritizing guest safety.
  • Government Orders: The City of Miami Beach or State of Florida may issue evacuation orders, and guests will be required to comply.

Cancellations

  • Cancellation Window: Guests can cancel without penalties if their scheduled travel is within 72 hours or less before a hurricane strikes.
  • Contact for Cancellation: Guests must contact their travel professional who booked their vacation package to cancel.

No Show

  • Waived Penalties: No show penalties will be waived for up to 5 days after a hurricane strikes.

Early Departures

  • Certificates Issued: Guests departing early due to a hurricane threat will receive a certificate for the number of unused nights (excluding the day of departure).

Rescheduling

  • Rate Guarantee: Guests postponing their vacation can maintain their original rate for up to 6 months.
  • Rescheduling Window: Guests must reschedule within 60 days following the storm.
  • Conditions: Rate protection applies only to the original number of nights and guests booked. Additional nights or guests will be at the current rate. No name changes are allowed. Space is subject to availability and blackout periods.

Certificates

  • Validity: Certificates are valid for travel up to 1 year from the original travel date.
  • Conditions: Certificates are nontransferable, not redeemable for cash, and subject to availability and blackout periods.

Booking Channels

  • Direct Bookings: The policy applies to individual travel booked directly with the property.
  • Groups & Third Parties: Groups should refer to their specific contract policies. Bookings through Tour Operators or third-party websites must contact their original booking source for information on their hurricane policy.

Policy Changes

  • Notice: The policy may change or be discontinued without notice.

Exclusions

  • Day of Departure: The day of departure is excluded from any calculations of unused nights.
  • Airfare and Transfers: These are not included in the compensation offered by the policy.
